The TS-DC1 is a precision test platform built to characterize the electrical insulation performance of dielectric materials at high frequency. Bringing together a dedicated test fixture, a control and measurement unit, automated data capture, and a matched set of inductors, the system gives engineers a single, self-contained solution for evaluating how a material behaves when subjected to a high-frequency electric field.
At the heart of the platform is a parallel-plate capacitor arrangement that holds the specimen in place while a Q-meter tracks the resulting resonance behaviour. By comparing the Q-value and thickness readings taken with and without the sample in the fixture, the TS-DC1 derives the dielectric loss tangent (tanδ) of the material under test. The dielectric constant (ε) is calculated from the same measurement cycle, so both parameters are produced together, automatically, in a single pass.
Because the method relies on direct physical measurement rather than modelled approximation, the TS-DC1 is well suited to quality control, incoming material inspection, and R&D characterization work where repeatable, standards-traceable results are essential.
Key Features
- Fully automatic computation of dielectric constant (ε) and dielectric loss tangent (tanδ) in a single measurement cycle.
- DDS digital synthesized signal source for stable, accurate frequency generation across a wide operating range.
- Automatic and manual Q-range switching to suit different sample types and test conditions.
- Automatic resonance point scanning, removing the need for manual tuning.
